Kate Middleton wears festive green dress at Buckingham Palace

Another Emilia Wickstead dress FTW 💚

As far as royal engagements go, co-hosting an evening event for the world's global leaders with her majesty the Queen definitely takes the cake.

A task Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (AKA Kate Middleton) took on with elegant ease as she welcomed NATO leaders for a reception at Buckingham Palace last night.

Kate pulled out all the stops for the event, which she attended solo (sans Prince William) and wow-ed attendees in a festive emerald green dress by one of her favourite designers Emilia Wickstead.

Kate has had a long established relationship with the New Zealand-born, London-based designer, who often makes custom pieces for the Duchess' royal engagements.

The green dress - a customised version of the designer's Autumn pleated high-neck crepe midi dress, which retails for £965 - features a high neckline and cinched waist.

As for accessories, Kate opted for an elegant pair diamond drop earrings and, of course, Princess Diana's famous sapphire engagement ring.

The mother of three went full-glam for the evening event, with her chestnut locks styled in her signature bouncy blowout, swapping out her usual neutral lip for a peachy shade and a smokey eye which made Kate's eyes pop.

This isn't the first time the Duchess has worn the bold emerald shade, from her Catherine Walker forest green coat on the royal tour of New Zealand in 2014, to her form-fitting Dolce & Gabbana dress at Wimbledon this year and, most recently, on the royal tour of Pakistan. It seems deep greens have become a bit of a favourite of Kate's, not unlike her late mother-in-law Princess Diana, who also loved the vibrant shade.
