- Louis Tomlinson opened up about Zayn Malik quitting One Direction in 2015.
- He said he’s still mad at Zayn and he doesn’t know if he could forgive him.
- Louis once said his mom’s dying wish was for him and Zayn to reunite.
Four years after Zayn Malik left One Direction, Louis Tomlinson still isn’t sure if he’s ready to forgive and forget.
If your whole world wasn’t flipped upside down in 2015 when Zayn left the band because of “the level of scrutiny he gets put under,” know that there has been a ton of drama ever since. At one point, Zayn said he didn’t buy his former bandmates’ Made in the A.M. album, and there have been a lot of words exchanged on Twitter.
In a just-published interview, Louis said he’s still not over how Zayn handled the whole situation. When Metro UK asked Louis if he could ever forgive Zayn and welcome him back into the band if they had a reunion, he said, “I just don’t think I am mature enough, even in my own head, to give that a real answer.”
The “We Made It” singer added, “At the moment, I am still pretty mad about the whole thing. I don’t think he [Malik] handled it very well. But never say never. Who knows? He chatted a lot of sh*t in the early days. I thought One Direction were pretty good.”
That said, after Louis’ mom passed away in 2016, he shared that her “dying wish” was for him to “get back in contact with Zayn” because “life’s too f*cking short.” At the time, Louis said he and Zayn were on good terms and that he “can’t stand to hold a grudge with anyone.” But when Zayn didn’t show up to Louis’ first performance after his mom died, things went downhill, again.

To be fair to Zayn, he did tweet his support at Louis, but the damage was already done, and it seems Louis is having a hard time getting over everything.
